Pennine Backgammon 2024
There will be 24 rounds, 12 at each venue (Bradford and Manchester)
All monthly tournaments will start at 12.00pm (Bradford) and 12.30pm (Manchester) prompt. Last registrations taken 15 minutes before start times.
There will be no joint or intermediate leagues this year. Bradford and Manchester will have their own individual quarterly and annual leagues.
At the end of each quarter there will be prize money (see tables below) awarded to the top 2 masters & intermediate players of the previous 3 months.
An intermediate player is one that would qualify as per the UK Tour 2024 Intermediate eligibility rules as follows: – Tour rating >= 1600 or previous Pennine winner = Master, tour rating <1600 = Intermediate.
However an intermediate player can opt to play as a 'master' but must choose this option prior to playing their first event.

For players without a tour rating the TD has sole discretion
Each quarter will start afresh giving all players an equal chance of cashing.
There will be 2 annual league tables (Bfd and Mcr) with a trophy for each winner and runner up.
Points will be accumulated as follows for both quarterly and annual leagues: -
4 wins (no byes) = 2 points, 3 wins + 1 bye win = 1.5 points, 3 wins = 1 point, 2 wins + 1 bye win = 0.5 points.
In the event of tied players in quarterly leagues prizes will be shared equally.
In the event of tied players in annual leagues the finishing position will be determined by the following tie break rules:
1. Most events won
2. Matches won
3. Most attendances
4. Head-to-head
5. If still tied there will be a play-off between players involved.
Quarterly and Xmas prizes will be financed by the excess collected from registrations and rakes after admin/venue costs are deducted.
As the money used to fund this competition is coming from registration fees (i.e. the more events you attend the more you contribute) there will be an eligibility criteria*.
*To qualify for quarterly prizes players must attend at least 2 events at the relevant venue in the relevant quarter
To qualify for Xmas prizes & annual league trophies players must attend at least 6 events at the relevant venue in 2024
Entry fees
£5 registration, £20 entry
100% pay-out less 10% (rounded) for quarterly and Xmas prizes
On the day prize monies (4 wins = 47.5%, 3 wins = 37.5%, 0-2 winner 5%) all rounded
Optional side pools (100% pay-out, winner takes all but deals can be made)
2nd chance entry for players winning 3 matches
Entry fee for this is included in entry fee with an optional £10 side pool.
